I'll just continue numbering my hiking days for ghe moment...
After neaely 6 h in the bus, I arrived very early in Sofia this morning. It seemed like the next bus to Berlovista would be at 1 pm, so I took the much longer train ride with a change of trains in Boichinovtsi. Since everything is in kyrillic and I didn't wanted to end up at the wrong place, I asked people for help, showing my ticket. I arrived in Berkovitsa at 11 am on a VERYold looking train. I bought some delicious filled pastry (I'm incredibly hungry all the time...) and walked to Mt Kom, the start of the Kom Emine Trail.
On my way I passed my first and only sheep flock, which was a very relaxed encounter! If this continues to be that easy with the sheep and dogs in Bulgaria, I love it :)
I was thirsty since I had brought only 1 L of water when I left Busteni the day before, so I aye as many blackberries as I could find. Oh and ehay joy it was to drink the cold water of the spring in the afternoon!!!
It was amazing weather but there was a yellow cloud hanging above the valley, so views were pretty bad. I nevertheless enjoyed the walk up Mt. Kom and the following ridge walk. I hope I will have good weather the next weeks, since the Kom Emine is going along the ridge most of the time!!!
It was windy on the ridge and once the sun disappeared, it got freezing cold. I set up my tent at a suboptimal spot with a nice view but quite some wind and in a grass-juniper mess. But it was already late and I just wanted to camp!
