Day 118: More ridge walk, lots of elevation change for food and a little rain

The night was not too cold. I woke up early to get some kilometers in. I really want to finish the high section of the Kom Emine before the weather gets bad. So I got to see a nice sunrise, with some clouds lingering around.

After some nice little peaks on a very smooth ridge walk, I dropped down 1200 m in elevation to th3 town of Anton in order to buy food. There was a decent sized supermarket and I even found some oats and I bought lots of cookies. As usually, I got milk and cookies for lunch. I wanted to get bread, but they had only 1 kg sizes and I didn't wanted to carry that much.

While it was sunny and hot walking down, there were some dark clouds when I started my ascent back onto the ridge. But it stayed dry and was sunny on between. It wasn't too bad going up and twice there was water, where I filled my stomach up with 1L each time. Just before reaching the ridge, there was a single dark cloud above me and it started to rain. Not too badly, but I had to stop to safe my solar panel and put on my rain jacket since it was getting cold.

Back on the ridge the weather didn't look to bad and although I heard thunder, I was hoping it stays far away. At some point however it started hailing and then raining again, but all not too bad and there were only single clouds while the sun was still shining. But I was happy about my rainjacket, since it was cold with the wind.

I camped earlier than I had intended, since I wasn't sure if I would find a wind sheltered spot within the next kilometers and there were clouds poling up in my direction. However, when I had set up my tent, the sun was shining again... Still, my location is great, as long as the wind doesn't change its direction!

What a nice morning!

Looking back on my route

Sunrays  in the valley

Horses everywhere

Just before being back in the ridge it rained from this single cloud...

Tonight's campspot - loving it!!!
