This morning I slept a little longer. When I woke up I heard lots of bells, noises, cars, people... so I was afraid, a sheep flock with people might pass by my tent. I quickly packed and started to decent o the road. I had no idea yet, where I would walk today. I crossed a little stream and followed a road uphill. Then I came across a trail marker, which said Sentiero dei Vuturuna. Since the road looked boring, I decided to go on mini-adventure by following the trail markers. First I had to crawl under a fence and then it was a little treasure hunt, following the markers uphill through the oak forest. I reached a paved road and huge picnic area with water, a nice refugio and some walnut trees.
After a break, I continued on the trail but since it was heading out of the forest and towards a house where I could hear poeple, I decided to walk uphill through the forest to another road. By then it was about 10 o'clock, I had eaten already my lunch chocolate and was not very motivated at all. But the weather improved and I had made a plan for the day - a little hike mainly in the forest and a short part on the sentiero Italia. Apart from a car once in a while, there was nobody and it seems like I needed a bit time to get back into hiking mode, but then enjoyed it.
I passed a lake, walked over pastures and just when the thunder was coming closer, I entered the forest again. There was some rain, but not enough to make me wet, so I took lots of time to take pictures of lichens and other cool things. When I got to my highest point of over 1700 m, it got pretty foggy and the drizzle became stronger. While I walked through really nice beech forest before, I entered pastures again and the pine and oak forests were behind fences. So sad, I had hoped for a beautiful camp spot between beech trees! It became very foggy and I decided to use a gap in the fence to sneak into an oak forest. A bit early but nearly perfect timing, since it started to rain quite a bit (and it still is) when I set up my tent. With the rain, I do at least have enough water :)
