Italy - Day 8: A wet start and wonderful sea views

When I packed my tent this morning, it started to drizzle and I thought that this day is going to be horrible. The weather forecast predicted rain all day, srarting before noon. I had been quick in the morning, since I wanted at least a few hours without rain in the morning...

I got a few nice views with the sunrise but gegen it rained for a few hours. It was foggy  windy, no trees and rained. Not very hard but enough to get wet. At least the temperatures were fine, so I was cool but not freezing.

Before noon, the clouds disappeared,  I got wonderful views to both sides of Sicilia and I was able to enjoy my lunch break in the sun. No rain anymore, but dark clouds are hanging around!

Since I couldn't charge with my solar panel very much within the last days, I booked an accommodation for tomorrow night in Reggio Calabria, which is already on Italys mainland. Crazy, it's been only a week since I had a shower :) I got a room with kitchen  so I can hopefully roast all the chestnuts I carry around with me ;)

Already at 4 pm I was above the town of Messina today, looking for a camp spot. And I found a wonderful hidden place between oaks, wind protected and even with a little view of the sea.
