I continued to followed the river, up to Dimitsana and there were a lot of highlights along the way: The first would have been the ruins of Gortys, but I was too lazy to walk back, once I discovered I had just passed it... Then the Podromou Monastary, which is spectacular - it's clinging to a sheer cliff. Then came the ruins of the old Monostary of the Pholosopher, bevor I passed the New Monastary. The trail was criss-crossing the river, sometimes far up, sometimes low. A beautiful trail and I saw quiet some tourists today. AND I saw 2 turtles again.
In Dimitsana I was totally shocked, how busy it was. I nearly directly ran away again, but the decided to calm down in a quiet area (really, only the Main road was crazy) and made use of the open "supermarket", which was relatively large compared to the usual mini-markets, but not cheaper - it's Greece!
I walked only a little further to have my lunch break with a beautiful view on the town. Then it was up but never too steep, through open agricultural land to the village of Zigovisti.
I continued up through a gorge and into the forest. What a nice feeling to be in a real forest again. I had some nice views from 1640 m high Pliovouni, bevor I descended into the forest again to find a campspot for the night.
