Day 72: Nice surprises

What a day! In the morning, I followed the train line for 3 hours, but didn't see it very often, since there were lots of tunnels. Most of the time, I had to walk through tall grass and while it wasn't too wet from above, it certainly was from below!

This first hours were still fine, but the rain was becoming crazy, it was foggy and I started to get cold, despite hiking slightly uphill. So I pitched my tent, ate faaaar too much and took a nap. I woke up when two people passed my tent (I was maybe 2 m away from the trail) and discovered that it was still foggy but much lighter. So I gathered all my power and got back into my dripping wet cloths. A wise decision, cause it wasn't far until I dropped down short but very steep and came on some open meadows (not the ones with high grass!). It was much warmer and to my surprise, there was sun once in a while :) It's incredible how that can change everything!!! AND I found the first ripe blueberries :)

I didn't walk much further, knowing it'll go up on a grassy ridge where I would be in the fog again. Instead I found a lovely spot with a good view on some houses and the mountain chain I will follow tomorrow and started to dry my cloths. There are tons of annoying flies, but better than mosquitos or horseflies ;)

Turns out the weather improved greatly and I could have walked further. Well, I just hope it'll be like that tomorrow, when I will walk on the ridge all day!

Seems like people in the Ukraine are really relaxed about people in tents. The two people passing my tent didn't even stop to have a look and now there are 2 guys around my tent, taking care of their grazing cows while listening to music on their phones :)

Looking out of my tent on the noon-break

Yeahey!
