Day 85: A bushbashing nightmare

Today was mainly in the forest. While I had some pastures and sheep dogs in the morning, later it was pure forest. Normally great but not today. There are no trails or paths on my map in this area, but there are quite a few (mainly) overgrown paths. I got a gpx trail for the E8 from the Romanian hiking association, but for this part, the track is not precise and consists just some lines that don't follow a trail. It took me a while to get the general idea, that it doesn't make any sense to follow the track too close. In this learning process I bushbashed through young beech bushes, fields of stinging nestles and blackberries and slid down steep hills. And all this, knowing that probably not far away, there is something like a trail. I hated it!!! And whenever er I found a trail, it quickly disappeared - from a nice 4WD track to nothing or a beech brush.

Now I'm camping on a junction where several overgrown tracks meet and I am not sure in which direction I should go tomorrow...
An exhausting day and my legs are burning like he'll from all the plants.
There will be at least another 20 km of that, if I follow the E8, before I hit some trail again that is on my map. But I will cross a road tomorrow, where I could head out...

A nice morning in the meadowd

My shoes after the bushbashing... they lasted only 2 weeks :(

There are some bears around!
