Italy - Day 16: Adventurous morning and beautiful views

I managed to sneak away from my sleeping spot in the morning without being discovered. The road leads me to Caraffa di Catanzaro, which looks like a nice village.

Since the sun is shining, I take off my rainjacket and fix the solar module on my backpack. Not long after, I pass some pomegranate trees, where the fruits are already rotting, because nobody harvested them. So I take some and eat one directly for breakfast.

Then came an adventurous part. I walk along some wind turbines, over fences, through blackberry bushes and suddenly was standing jnf4ont of another big drop and "canyon land". It looked amazing with the sun  Luckily it was easy to walk down and I continued over some smaller roads to Marcellinara. I passed a supermarket and couldn't resist to stop for some treats! With a stomach full of milk and cookies, I continued my way up over quiet paths to Tiriolo.

Tiriolo is a beautiful little village and from Mt. Tiriolo (848 m), which I climbed up, I had beautiful views onto the village and up to the sea. The trail followed a little ridge that was easy to follow and offered even more beautiful views.

After a little descent, I walked up another hill and descended along chestnut plantations down to a Basilika. Another ascent over small paths and then I followed paved roads for over an hour uphill. I had hoped for some forest to camp, which was shown on my map, but there were fences and houses everywhere. I found a spot between oaks, uphill from the road but still very close to it as well as houses and barking dogs... not perfect, but I had enough for the day!
