I came to a marked path, which was even the Sentiero Italia. I must have some older track, since on my map I would hit the trail much later. I took the shortest trail down through beech forests to San Severino Lucano. And once the snow was melted, it was easy going. Not exciting, but incredible nice with the young, light green leaves. Then mixed in some fir (even gigantic ones) and later on some smaller oak forests.
I passed the village quickly, since I still had enough food and walked down to and along a stream. Twice I cut out a bit of the Sentiero Itala, which was doing a lot of "unnecessary" bends. The first time way a little "mini-adventure", since I just followed a dirt path, not knowing if it would really be helping me to short cut, since it was not on my map.
I set up my tent underneath some oak trees, not far from the dirt road I am following. I wanted to camp already earlier but the dirt road gies aling a huge wildlufe reserve or slmething alike, at least hhete is a big fence on one side of tge road. I had hoped that this might end at some point, but gave up after 1.5 km and set up my tent in the forest on the other side of the road. There is a lovely loud bird's concert!
