At first I thought, its going to be a bad and short hiking day. The night before, when I was sitting in my tent, I must have made a bad move, because my ankle clicked and then hurt. Not totally bad, but I thought: oh no!
In the morning, my ankle hurt quite a lot. I walked mainly on paved roads, first to avoid going into a village (which the Sentiero Italia did) and then on the Sentiero Italia over several low ridges with beautiful views. All along pastures, but with so many flowers! And then it was nice sunny and so spring like, that I happily wanderer around.
At 9:30 a.m. I passed a water source, but it was flowing so slow, that I decided to have my lunch break there in order to use yhe time to collect at least 1.5 L of water. And I couldn't believe it, after my break the ankle was much better!!!
In the afternoon, I came to a ski area and walked up Monte del Papa. Since the trail was going up in a valley on the North side, there was still some snow. At least I had water now ;) Although it was soft snow and walking was OK, at some point I walked up on a snow free ridge and it was so much better. Should have done that already down in the valley... The views were amazing on Lago Remmo but even better on the clouds, filling the valley towards Lagonegro.
A short ridge walk to Monte Sirino and then I sadly had to drop down towards the clouds in order to camp in the beech forest. But I found a spot just on the edge of the clouds, where for a short time I still had a little sun once in a while.
