But up at around 1000 m on the Monte Nandiniello, I was in the sun and above the clouds. Beautiful!
I dropped down to cross the river Sinni over a bridge and a big road, just to walk up again to Latronico, a sympathetic little village with free Wifi and a store.
After gulping down 1 L of milk, I started my long (but well marked) way up to Monte Santa Croce. As the last days, clouds were forming again and when I was nearly IP there, dark clouds were looming around, but it stayed dry! I had beautiful views of the clouds in the valley, the high mountains of the Pollino National Park, the dammed lake Invaso di Cogliandrino and the ridge that I would walk down for a little bit.
When I dropped steeply down from the ridge into the forest, I was happy that the sun had already melted most of the snow, because that would have been another hell of a climb down in the snow.
The trail went down through beautiful beech forests and when I reached a road I decided to head back into the forest and set up my tent. A little early, bur I don't want to stress my foot too much in the first days. And the forest is so nice, that I enjoy camping early. Just that mosquitos are really bugging me, so I am hiding in my tent!
